What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi Quan is a system of slow meditative physical exercises for balance, relaxation and health. The Quan aspect of Tai Chi Quan can be described as the meditative focus or the boxing expression of this internal Martial art practiced for both it's health benefits and martial value. There are many different Tai Chi training forms both traditional and modern.

The interest in Tai Chi has and is still steadily growing in the West as more people experience the benefits of this art.

The health benefits of Tai Chi forms, traditional and modern are supported by Western medical studies showing the effectiveness of Tai Chi as an alternative exercise to prevent illness and support the well-being of the mind and health of the body.

The Harvard Medical School Guide to Tai Chi, published in 2013, shows some of the newer research into this ancient art's health benefits. To view mini lectures by Harvard Medical School Researchers in the field of Tai Chi and Mind Body exercise click here
