Join us for our Tai Chi &/or Qi Gong Courses at The
United Reform Church Hall Water Lane (next to Waitrose Car Park), Bishop's Stortford.
Taught by experienced teacher Shi XingFa.
These courses give you the opportunity to learn Tai Chi & Qi Gong theory and training.
Open to all - Designed for fun, health & Wellbeing.
The Tai Chi training will cover the fundamental essentials
of the Old Classic Tai Chi Quan form LaoJia & focus on the following:
WuJie – ‘emptiness’ - the mother of Tai Chi
Cultivation of Qi - 'energy'
JamJong – ‘standing posture’
Use of the Heavenly Pillar - Spinal Chord
The health benefits of Tai Chi include:
• Increased Qi -'energy'- levels & circulation
• Strengthens circulatory and immune systems
• Stimulation of the Central Nervous System
• Development of internal 'musculature'
• Improved flexibility & joint mobility
• Significantly improved balance and co-ordination
• Relaxation of both Physical & Mental tension

The Qi Gong training will cover the following:
Introduction to ShaoLin QiGong
-What is Qi?
-What are the three treasures (Tien, Di, Ren)?
-Why practise ShaoLin QiGong?
ShaoLin BaDuanJin – ShaoLin 8 Silk Brocades training
Teaching & practice of the ShaoLin BaDuanJin (as taught in ShaoLin Temple)
Stimulation of SanJiao:
- upper Jiao: heart & lung function
- middle Jiao: spleen & stomach function
- lower Jiao: kidney & urinary bladder function
Qi-Gong or Chi Kung - energy skill - has evolved over thousands
of years in China.
These exercises stimulate not only the energy of the body, but also the Qi flow throughout the body.
Qi-Gong training is highly meditative involving specific breathing skills, body manipulation & focus.
